The Chinese video game studio behind the global hit Black Myth: Wukong, which played a role in shifting Beijing’s attitude on the gaming industry, has begun developing a new title featuring a Taoist ghost hunter from Chinese folklore.

Game Science has officially announced Black Myth: Zhongkui, a brand-new entry in the studio’s game of the year award-winning series. Announced at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, the new game follows a new protagonist fighting spirits across hell and earth.

With that being said, the Black Myth: Zhong Kui trailer has been revealed at the Gamescom event 2025. This indicates that the developers are well prepared to launch the sequence of titles. If this rumor turns out to be true, players can expect to witness the next-to-next Black Myth title called Jiang Ziya soon.
