In October the Jamaican-German Society in Kingston brought the spirit of Bavaria to Jamaica with its highly anticipated Oktoberfest celebration! It was a night full of lively music, dancing, and a vibrant fusion of German and Jamaican cultures. We enjoyed over 20 types of authentic German beers and traditional German food. The next time someone asks me if my German husband understands my Jamaican culture I’m going to send them this video 🤣🤣…These clips are from the second time we’ve attended Jamaica Carnival together (we’ve done 4 trips back to Jamaica as a couple) and I low key think he had a better time than me! 🤣 As a daughter of the Caribbean, it warms my heart to see “outsiders” who have a deep appreciation for the culture, music, and food— and I’m even more tickled that my own husband is such a big fan.
