He sang “Tiptoe Through the Tulips,” smiling and waving as he reached the final lines. Near the end of the song, his voice faltered. He took a few steps forward, bowed slightly, and then dropped to the floor in full view of the crowd. At first, some in the audience thought it was part of the act. The music stopped.
